Rock Around the Clock [LT Series]

by: Bill Haley & The Comets

Daddy of all the rock flicks, this black & white 1956 groundbreaker introduced Bill Haley & The Comets to the world, and there's plenty of lip-sync footage -- practically their entire first Decca album. Seems the Comets are tearing up the hinterlands when a disillusioned agent stumbles across them. Alan Freed makes the first of many cameos in such quickie films, while The Platters and Las Vegas-rockers Freddie Bell and the Bell Boys provide more excitement. ~ Bill Dahl
