30 Years of Hits

by: Cliff Richard

To even attempt to span Cliff Richard's recording career in a single disc is a daunting task, but this collection manages to do it, although the results are akin to skipping a stone across a massive ocean. Opening with his first big hit, 1958's rockabilly-styled "Move It," skipping through his comeback years with his only U.S. hit, 1976's "Devil Woman," and concluding with 1987's "Some People," 30 Years of Hits has a remarkably cohesive feel, given the years it traverses. The ominous and eerie "Carrie," released in 1980, is a particular rediscovery delight. ~ Steve Leggett
