Day One

by: From Ashes to New

The self-titled full length from Pennsylvania rap rockers From Ashes to New contains all four tracks from their 2015 EP and adds seven more. Group-sung and chanted vocals (clean and dirty), crunchy post alt-metal riffs, retro synth, and hooky lyric choruses showcase a band with many strengths who have yet to settle into a definable sound. Their many influences -- from Linkin Park and P.O.D. to Hollywood Undead and Five Finger Death Punch -- are readily evident, but so is their ability to write catchy hard rock songs such as "Farther from Home," "Shadows" "Face the Day" and "You Only Die Once." ~ Thom Jurek
