The Legendary Howlin' Wolf

by: Howlin' Wolf

A powerful performer and one of the architects of the Chicago blues sound in the 1950s and 1960s, Howlin' Wolf cut an imposing and riveting figure on-stage and in the studio. This brief set collects one of his signature songs, "Highway 49," along with 11 other Wolf performances. It's a bit on the random side, but Howlin' Wolf was a powerful blues performer anytime he faced a microphone, and doubtless even when he didn't, so this set still works.
