by: Intocable

With many of their major hits missing from the track list, this budget collection is hardly a one-stop shop for all things Intocable, but it's still filled with plenty of prime Tejano and Norteño music. Check the opening "Quisiera" for the group at their tightest, or jump to the big hit "Aire" for an example of how they can play it free, and even funky. "Te Amo" is the one to pick for romance and passion, while "Tiempo" is a showcase for how this group of skilled musicians can act as a single entity, all riding this twisty song with equal ease. Still, all the fine playing wouldn't matter without the fine songs, and even if this themed set of Romances is missing some of their biggest, it's a well sequenced, alternative view of this Tejano institution. ~ David Jeffries
