La La Means I Love You [Excalibur]

by: The Delfonics

The Delfonics' compilation discography is cluttered with re-recordings. This anthology, released by Excalibur, is one of them, though the label doesn't note it anywhere on the packaging. Sharp consumers can probably tell by the cover that the set might not include the original versions released during the early '70s. While these versions are fronted by William Hart and feature spirited performances, they're nowhere near the standard heard on the originals. Avoid all other Excalibur releases, as well as those from the likes of San Juan, Music Avenue, and St. Clair, all of which have contributed to the jumble. ~ Andy Kellman
