Dance Party 2010

Oriented toward the teen market, Dance Party 2010 includes both a CD and DVD filled with some of the year's most popular contemporary dance-pop hits in the United Kingdom. The 21-track CD includes a mix of British and American artists. Some of the British dance-pop highlights include Jay Sean' s "Do You Remember," Sugababes' "Wear My Kiss," N-Dubz' s "I Need You," and Tinchy Stryder' s "You're Not Alone." Some of the American dance-pop highlights include Lady Gaga and Beyoncé' s "Telephone," Black Eyed Peas' "Rock That Body," Kesha' s "Tik Tok," and Rihanna' s "Take a Bow." There are also some international highlights: Justin Bieber' s "One Time" (Canada), Jedward's "Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)" (Ireland), Gabriella Cilmi' s "On a Mission" (Australia), and Madcon' s "Beggin'" (Sweden). All in all, it's a great mix of teen-oriented contemporary dance-pop hits. The DVD includes videos of all the songs, some of them quite extravagant, in particular Lady Gaga and Beyoncé' s "Telephone." In addition, there are three segments called "learn the dance routines" that instruct viewers how to do the dances for Cheryl Cole' s "Fight for This Love," JLS' "Beat Again," and the Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up." While many television-marketed dance music compilations like this boast about their selection of hits, Dance Party 2010 fulfills its promise with a full album's worth of bona fide hits by many of the year's top pop stars. ~ Jason Birchmeier
