Now That's What I Call Running 2015

Like an intense musical protein gel or a strong tailwind at your back, Now That's What I Call Running 2015 delivers 66 tracks of (mostly) propulsive, high-energy pop to get you across the finish line. As with the previous two volumes in this series, it's split into three discs with selections dating as far back as the 1960s (James Brown's eternal upper "I Feel Good"), yet remains mostly focused on contemporary pop from the early 2010s. Chock-full of empowering anthems like Katy Perry's "Roar," feel-good dance jams like Ariana Grande's "Bang Bang," and inspiring pop like Bastille's heroic new age epic "Pompeii," there is plenty of momentum here to keep you going. Some curiously poor choices like Hozier's gloomy sex dirge "Take Me to Church" might inspire you to cross the street over into Sadville, but with one fumbling poke to your armbanded smartphone, you can skip right ahead to the more athletic stuff, of which there is plenty. ~ Timothy Monger
