30 Seconds to Mars

Hollywood film star Jared Leto teamed up with his brother, drummer Shannon Leto, to form the alt-rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars in Los Angeles, California. Launched in 1998, the band released its self-titled debut album in 2002, followed by the theatrical and ambitious A Beautiful Lie in 2005. A Beautiful Lie reached number 36 in the US, where the record went platinum thanks to anthemic rock singles like "The Kill" and "From Yesterday." 2009's This War drew its inspiration from prog rock, new wave, and the glam pop ambition of The Killers, leading to a number 18 peak on the Billboard 200 as well as Number 1 placements on the US Alternative Songs Chart with "Kings and Queens" and "This Is War." 2013's Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams became the band's first Top 10 success on the Billboard 200, where the record reached number 6, while 2018's America climbed all the way to number 2. America's most successful track, "Walk on Water," hit Number 1 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, giving the band its fourth chart-topping hit. Following the departure of longtime guitarist Tomo Miličević, Thirty Seconds to Mars returned in 2023 with the group's sixth album, It's the End of the World but It's a Beautiful Day, which was led by the Top 10 hit "Stuck."
