Alesha Dixon

There may be some people under the illusion that Alesha Dixon first came to fame when she won the TV show Strictly Come Dancing in 2007, but she'd already had nearly a decade in the spotlight singing with one of the UK's best girl groups Mis-Teeq. Inspired by London garage music, Alesha formed Mis-Teeq after meeting Sabrina Washington at a London dance academy and, with Su-Elise Nash, they had a string of hits, including All I Want, One Night Stand, B With Me, Scandalous, Can't Get It Back and Style. Mis-Teeq split in 2005 and Alesha launched a solo career with the single Lipstick. She released a solo album, The Alesha Show in 2008, which produced the hits The Boy Does Nothing and Breathe Slow and supported Enrique Iglesias on a UK tour. But Strictly Come Dancing introduced her to an entirely new audience, resulting in more headlines when she was invited to be a judge on the show.
