AleXa

Singer, dancer, and actor Alexandra Christine Schneiderman (December 9, 1996, Tulsa, Oklahoma), aka AleXa was born to a Russian-American father and a South Korean mother. The Korean-American K-pop idol developed an interest in dance at school and later put her skills to the test for online talent show Rising Legends, competing in two seasons of the reality program in 2016 and 2017 under the name Alex Christine. Her success led to a signing with ZB Label in 2018 and she subsequently found fame on the third season of the Mnet survival show, Produce 101. The following year she launched her K-pop singing debut, releasing her first single for ZB Label, "Bomb." Her debut mini-album Do or Die arrived in April 2020 with a second, one, Decoherence, following in October and charting on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart. 2021 saw the release of digital single "Never Let You Go" (오랜만이야), while she also collaborated with South Korean alt-rock band Onewe on an acoustic version of the song. She entered 2022 with a new single album, Tattoo, while also making her acting debut in the anthology horror film, Urban Myths that March. She was later catapulted onto the international stage for her performance of "Wonderland" in the first season of the Eurovision-inspired American Song Contest semi-finals, which started with an aerial dance segment and in which she represented her home state of Oklahoma. She was announced as the competition winner in May 2022.
