Beast Coast

American hip-hop supergroup Beast Coast boasts a packed roster of members from New York rap crews Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, and the Underachievers. Founded in 2012, they finally released their official studio debut, Escape from New York, in May 2019. Uniting the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Flatbush and Bed-Stuy, Beast Coast was formed by of the members of Pro Era (Joey Badass, Kirk Knight, CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, Aaron Rose, Chuck Strangers, Dessy Hinds, Dirty Sanchez, J.A.B., Jakk the Rhymer, Powers Pleasant, Rokamouth, and the late Capital STEEZ), Flatbush Zombies (Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, and Erick Arc Elliot), and the Underachievers (AK the Savior, Issa Gold). Many of the members grew up together -- whether hanging out or attending the same high school -- later forming their respective groups and achieving success and amassing fans. After years of touring together and appearing on each other's releases, the group entered the studio to make it official. Singles "Left Hand," "Coast/Clear," and "Snow in the Stadium" were released in 2019. The trio of tracks landed on their debut, Escape from New York, which arrived that May. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
