Ben Wu

Wu Szu-shien – born on January 5, 1991, in Taipei, Taiwan – is a Mandopop singer, TV personality, and actor better known by his stage name Ben Wu. As the dance club president at Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School, he performed on the variety show Diamond Club in 2007. The following year, he became a cast member on Mo Fang Bang Bang Tang, another variety show. He graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts, where he studied acting, and then signed a contract with Legendary Star Entertainment in 2010. He then appeared in the music video “Because of Love” by Wei Li’an. In 2013, he signed up for mandatory military service and was discharged the following year. Returning to his career, he released his debut album, The Best…? in 2014, which won him several awards including winning the Best Newcomer category at both the Hito Music Awards and CNTV Music Awards. Ben Wu starred in the 2014 movie Always Miss You before tackling television series such as Love Cuisine (2015), I Like You, You Know? (2016), The Perfect Match (2017), Iron Ladies (2018), and others. He returned to the music scene with the release of the Hide and Seek EP in 2016. After several years of focusing on acting, he returned to the music charts in 2021 and 2022 with singles such as “Burnout”, “I Come”, and “Want Too” (featuring Kire).
