Bengü

Bengü Erden (born in İzmir, Turkey on April 2, 1979), known mononymously as Bengü, is a best-selling Turkish singer. After studying music at the Istanbul Academy, she released her debut album Hoş Geldin in July 2000, followed by Bağlasan Durmam in 2005. Competing in and winning 2007 television singing competition Bak Kim Dans Ediyor, Bengü released Taktik, to considerable acclaim, with the record becoming one of the best-selling albums of the year. Between 2009 and 2014, Bengü shot to fame with with gold-certified album İki Melek which charted at number 1 for seven weeks, and hit singles "Aşkım" (2011), "Yaralı" (2012) "Saygımdan" (2013) performing well on the charts with Yaralı earning Bengü the award for “Most Played Song” at the Turkey Music Awards. Attracting considerable online attention with seventh studio album İkinci Hal in October 2014, she broke Turkish streaming records, with album single “Feveran” certified gold and the record chosen as Album of the Year by TTNET Müzik. Her success continued throughout 2016, with hit single "Hodri Meydan" debuting at number 1 on the charts and June single "Sığamıyorum" attracting 5 million views online during its first week, charting at number 3. Her next release Altın Çağ appeared in 2017 with singles “Kuzum” and "Geçmiş Olsun" charting at number 2 and 7 respectively. Recording a string of acoustic versions of her previous singles throughout 2021, Bengü returned with new material in 2022, releasing Bayıla Bayıla in December, peaking at number 9.
