Beth Nielsen Chapman

After releasing her first album in 1980, country singer-songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman took a ten-year sabbatical before releasing the self-titled Beth Nielsen Chapman in 1990. Two singles from the album, All I Have and I Keep Coming Back To You made it into the Billboard Top 20 Adult Contemporary Chart and provided the springboard for her career. It was the first of a series of critically acclaimed albums which cemented her reputation as a songwriter. Over the years she has expanded her audience appeal through collaborations with other artists, both as a performer and a writer. She has played with artists such as Paul Carrack, Bonnie Raitt, Michaerl McDonald and Emmylou Harris and has co-written songs with an impressive list of songwriters including Annie Roboff, Bill Lloyd, Eric Kaz and Joe Henry. Her own songs have been covered by artists of the calibre of Waylon Jennings, Bette Midler, Willie Nelson and Cristal Gayle. Chapman lost her husband Ernest to cancer in 1994 and has herself battled with the disease. The album Liv On released in 2016 is a collaboration with Olivia Newton-John and Amy Sky and has a theme of compassion and hope in the face of grief and loss.
