Bicep

In a relatively short period of time, London-based electronic music duo Bicep went from celebrated music bloggers to a successful touring act, spawning several club hits along the way. Inspired by their mutual love of obscure house music and techno, childhood friends Andy Ferguson and Matt Mc Briar, originated from Belfast, created the blog Feel My Bicep, which served as both an outlet for their eclectic music taste and a platform to showcase their work. After moving to London, the pair began DJing in the capital’s club circuit and made their official debut in 2009 with the single “Strawberry,” issued via Ghost Town. The duo further raised their profile with the single “Darwin” (2010) and dropped the Silk EP in 2011, which was followed by a series of remixes for Blood Orange, Medlar, and Cosmic Kids. In 2012, they started a residency at East London’s Plastic People and were named Best of British Breakthrough DJ by the electronic music magazine DJ Mag. That same year, Ferguson and McBriar launched the label Feel My Bicep with the EP Vision of Love, which became an overnight sensation in the dance music scene and received the remix treatment by Detroit techno eminence Carl Craig. In the following years, Bicep delivered a couple of highly celebrated EPs and singles that preceded the arrival of their self-titled studio debut in 2017. Propelled by lead single “Glue,” the album reached Number 20 on the UK Albums Chart and garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews from several renowned media outlets. Following an extensive world tour throughout the US, Japan, and Europe, Bicep headed back to the studio to start working on their sophomore effort, Isles, which saw the light in 2021 and was preceded by the singles “Apricots,” “Atlas,” and “Saku.”
