Big John Patton

John Patton was best known for his work with the Hammond organ in jazz, soul and R&B from the 1950s up until his death in 2002. Patton played a variety of keyed instruments in many different styles of jazz, and is also seen as influential on the short-lived acid Jazz movement of the 1980s and 1990s. Patton took a break from music during much of the 1970s, he played and recorded only sporadically, making a series of minor comebacks in the 1980s and '90s before he sadly died due to complications from diabetes in 2002.
