Big Narstie

Tyrone Lindo, known more famously as Big Narstie, is a grime MC, YouTube star and television personality. Initially a member of N Double A who rose to prominence in the early 2000s, putting out a series of singles and mixtapes which were particularly popular in the London grime scene. He then rose to prominence in his own right, signing to Dice Recordings in 2006 and almost immediately made an impact on urban radio stations such as Kiss Music and Radio 1Xtra with 'Brush Man', his early collaboration with fellow N Double A member Solo. After releasing a series of singles and mixtapes on his new record label, as well as independently, Big Narstie released his first EP '#Pain' in 2012. Entering the UK iTunes Hip-Hop Chart at number five, the Londoner went on to win the 2012 Urban Music Award for Best Grime Act, establishing himself as one of the hottest acts in the UK hip-hop scene. Following on from the successful cover EP 'What's the Story Brixton Glory, Vol. 2' in 2013, on which acts such as Coldplay and Oasis were given a grime makeover, he was nominated for a MOBO Award for the first time, only narrowly losing out to Stormzy. In 2015, he was given mainstream exposure through his collaboration with Craig David on 'When the Bassline Drops' which peaked at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart. He then released his full-length debut album 'BDL Bipolar' to critical acclaim, with The Guardian calling it a "promising debut packed with ideas". Big Narstie is also known for his exploits away from music. Following well-received appearances on Channel 4's 'Gogglebox' and 'Big Fat Quiz of the Year' in 2017, the network signed him up for his own television show 'The Big Narstie Show'. Featuring guest appearances from Ed Sheeran and Keith Lemon, the show performed well, particularly amongst young audiences, and a second series was commissioned.
