Clueso

German musician Clueso (born Thomas Hübner on April 9, 1980) has spanned multiple genres on his way to becoming a chart-topping success. Hübner dabbled in hairdressing before he took his musical path, and began his career -- with a stage name borrowed from The Pink Panther -- as a teenager. He initially focused on hip-hop, but would branch out into other styles as time passed. Clueso delivered his first album, Text und Ton, in 2001, and the reggae-influenced Gute Musik followed in 2004. His sophomore album made the charts and went gold in Germany, which drew the attention of Universal Music. With a major label now behind him, Clueso evolved again into more of a pop singer/songwriter, and was backed by a full band for 2006’s Weit Weg. After that, his next five albums landed in the top three on the German charts. His 2011 release, An Und Für Sich, took him in an electronic direction and achieved platinum status. After the release of his first Number 1 album, Stadtrandlichter, Clueso opted to ditch the band and turned down a stripped-down, acoustic path for his next two albums, Neuanfang and Handgepäck I, which both also hit Number 1.
