Canadian EDM DJ Conro produces vivid, intricate dance-pop songs that subtly draw from his background in folk, rock, and classical music. Conor Patton learned how to play violin when he was seven, and subsequently played in the Saskatoon Youth Symphony. After mastering piano, guitar, and drums, he began playing in several alternative rock bands before recording two folk albums under his given name. Eventually he started producing electro-house tracks that incorporated elements of rock and disco. In late 2012, while he was living in a trailer and working as a security guard, Conro signed to Wolfgang Gartner's Kindergarten imprint and released the debut single "Axiom." The track hit the Top Ten of Beatport's Electro House chart, and Conro's career took off. He toured with the Bassjackers and Dyro in 2014, opened for Gartner at the Avalon Hollywood nightclub, and received support from DJs such as Porter Robinson and Knife Party. Following second single "Boss," Conro moved in more of a dance-pop direction with the 2015 single "Bittersweet," a collaboration with Dyro that featured vocalist Envy Monroe. Following the track's success, Conro signed with leading EDM label Monstercat, debuting with "On My Way Up" near the beginning of the year. He refined his pop-friendly future bass sound with several more singles, such as "Unique" and "City Lights," in addition to well-received remixes for the Chainsmokers and Mr. Probz. Connecting the Dotz, a five-song EP that blended styles such as big room, future bass, and tropical house, appeared in August of 2017, and included the single "Close," which hit the Top 20 of Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart. Follow-up singles "Take Me There" and "Me" were released in 2018. ~ Paul Simpson
