Cory Asbury

American singer-songwriter and worship pastor Cory Asbury was born on October 15, 1985, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He spent his childhood years in North Carolina honing his songwriting skills and became a leader at his local church during his adolescence. After relocating to Kansas City for an internship at the International House of Prayer, Cory Asbury kicked off his music career on the 2007 IHOPKC compilation Immersed. Holy, a collaborative album with musician Matt Gilman saw the light the following year. Preceded by the single "My Beloved," his first solo album Let Me See Your Eyes was released in 2009 via Forerunner Music. Over the next few years, he featured in several compilations IHOPKC and New Life Church compilations before signing with Bethel Music in 2015. "Son of God," his first contribution to the collective, was featured on the live album Have It All, which peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart. Cody Asbury resumed his solo career in 2018 with Reckless Love, a critically acclaimed LP that topped the Christian music charts on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2020, his single "Egypt" from Bethel Music's Revival's in the Air cracked the Top 10 of the US Christian Digital Chart. The track was later re-recorded and re-released in 2021, reaching Number 12 on the Christian Airplay chart.
