Cover Drive

Full of dancehall swagger, reggae melodies and sun-scorched dance beats, Caribbean pop sensation Cover Drive provide a perfect soundtrack to hazy, relaxed days and wild, jumping summer nights. Formed in Barbados by schoolfriends Karen Reifer (vocals), Barry Hill (guitar), Jamar Harding (bass) and Thomas Ray Armstrong (drums), the group started posting their cover versions of Katy Perry, Train, Bruno Mars and Jessie J songs on YouTube and soon had record companies knocking on their door. Signed to Polydor, they opened for Rihanna in Bridgetown, Barbados in 2011 and shot to Number 9 in the UK with debut single Lick Ya Down. Follow-up Twilight fared even better, topping the charts and selling over 300,000 copies, while album Bajan Style (2012) drew comparisons with Black Eyed Peas and No Doubt. The band went on to work with Dappy from N-Dubz and LA hip hop group Far East Movement and toured with Kelly Clarkson before returning with EP Limin' in Limbo late in 2013.
