Danna Paola

Danna Paola Rivera Munguía is a Mexican singer and actor who found fame after starring in several popular children's television shows. Born and raised in Mexico City, Paola's acting career began early when she auditioned for 'Plaza Sésamo' at the age of four, appearing in several episodes along with her sister. After this she was cast in the telenovela 'Rayuto de Luz' (2000) and as a lead actress in 'María Belén' (2001). She also released her debut album 'Mi Globo Azul' (2001). Starring roles followed in several telenovelas as well as the release of two more studio albums, 'Océano' (2004) and 'Chiquita Pero Picosa' (2005). In 2010, Paola voiced 'Rapunzel' in the Spanish-language version of the Disney film 'Tangled.' Two years later she released her self-titled fourth studio album 'Danna Paola' (2012), moving away from the teen pop style of her earlier albums and introducing themes of romance and relationships. Both the original and deluxe versions in 2013 sold over a million copies each, topping the Mexican album charts. Several of the singles from this album topped both the Mexican and US singles charts, including 'Todo Fue un Show,' 'No es Cierto' and 'Agüita'. Also in 2013, Paola successfully auditioned for the role of Elphaba in the Spanish-language production of the Broadway musical Wicked. In 2015, she duetted with the Mexican singer Lalo Brito on the single 'Mientras Me Enamoras'. Over the following years, Paola released several singles including '¿Dónde Estabas Tú?' (2017), So Good (2018) and 'Mala Fama' (2019).
