DJ Luian

DJ Luian is the stage name of DJ, producer, and singer-songwriter Luian Malavé Nieves, considered one of the most important figures in the reggaeton and Latin urban scene. Born in 1990 in Carolina, Puerto Rico, his career began in 2010 after reggaeton icon Don Omar chose him to produce his album Meet the Orphans. Over the following years, he struck a creative partnership with urban artist Árcangel, with whom he collaborated on the 2014 hit single "Tremenda Sata." In 2015, a prolific DJ Luian teamed up with Wise the Gold Pen on the LP 14F and featured as producer on the Arcángel release, Los Favoritos. That year, he and Mambo Kingz started the Hear This Music label, signing then-up-and-coming trap artist Bad Bunny to their roster. Features on hit singles like De La Ghetto's "La Ocasión" (2016), Bad Bunny's "Sensualidad" (2017), Ozuna's "Solita" (2018), and Farruko's "Música" (2019) backed up his claim of being the most popular DJ in reggaeton. Simultaneously, the producer continued releasing music of his own, with 2018's "Bubalu" featuring Mambo Kingz, Anuel AA, Nicky Jam, Darell, and Becky G quickly becoming one of his most acclaimed releases.
