DJ Slait

DJ Slait is the stage name of Ignacio Pisano (born January 24, 1987), an Italian DJ and producer who left the sun-drenched beaches of his native Sardegna for the industrial landscapes of Milan chasing his dream of making it big in the hip-hop world. Shortly after his arrival in 2011, Slait founded the independent label Machete Empire Records with rappers Salmo and Hell Raton, through which he released Bloody Vinyl Vol. 1 (2012), a mixtape featuring some of the hottest up-and-coming talents in the underground hip-hop scene, such as Fratelli Quintale, En?gma, and Nitro. Not satisfied with the reception of their debut, Slait aimed for the stars with BV2 (2015), an impressive 22-track mixtape in collaboration with a whole host of producers including Low Kidd and Denny the Cool, plus new faces like Achille Lauro, Axos, and Debbit. Five years later, Slait teamed up once again with producers Low Kidd, Young Miles, and Tha Supreme for the group’s major label debut, the highly-anticipated BV3 (2020), which was released via Sony Music and featured collaborative tracks with 25 artists from Italy’s thriving hip-hop and urban music scene. The mixtape achieved gold certification soon after its release and topped FIMI’s chart, propelled by the huge success of Number 1 single “Altalene,” featuring singers Mara Sattei and Coez.
