Eric Prydz

One of Europe's top DJs, Eric Prydz has headlined at Ibiza's biggest superclubs and topped the bill at festivals across the continent. Originally an avid clubber who made beats in his bedroom, the Swede made his name on the underground dance scene before shooting to Number 1 in the UK charts in 2004 with the huge dancefloor anthem Call On Me. The track featured English rocker Steve Winwood and came with a risqué video of scantily clad ladies in an aerobics class that caused Prime Minister Tony Blair to remark "The first time it came on, I nearly fell off my rowing machine." Restricted from travelling too far afield by a fear of flying, Prydz creates his own music for his DJ sets and has remixed records for Pet Shop Boys, The Shapeshifters and Duran Duran as well as releasing his own tracks under the pseudonyms Pryda, Cirez D, Sheridan, Dirty Funker, Moo and AxEr. He reached Number 2 in the UK with the singles Proper Education (a remix of Pink Floyd's Another Brick In The Wall) and Pjanoo and made the Top 40 with the triple album Eric Prydz Presents Pryda. But it is in Europe's nightclubs pumping out thumping house and techno where Prydz is most at home.
