Fred Again

Under the pseudonym Fred Again, English songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Fred John Philip Gibson has attained international acclaim for both his sample-heavy brand of house/electronica and his versatile, forward-thinking production work for heavyweights like Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, and Swedish House Mafia. Born in London on July 19, 1993, his career as a professional musician grew from an encounter with Brian Eno after joining an a cappella group that happened to be recording at the ambient pioneer’s studio. Impressed by his skills with the Logic Pro software, Brian Eno took him under his wing and brought him into the fold to work alongside him and Underworld’s Karl Hyde on their first batch of collaborative albums, 2014’s Someday World and High Life. Over the next few years, Fred Again became one of the most sought-after producers in the business, landing credits on albums and singles by Roots Manuva, Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, and Shawn Mendes. "Kyle (I Found You)," his debut single, appeared in 2019 and was included in his first EP Actual Life (2020). This success was followed by a fruitful creative partnership with singer Ed Sheeran on his No. 6 Collaborations project, which ultimately led him to win the Producer of the Year award at the Brit Awards in 2020. Later that year, his joint LP with UK drill artist Headie One, Gang, climbed to Number 49 on the UK Albums Chart. Released in 2021, his full-length debut Actual Life (April 14 – December 17, 2020) garnered attention for its extensive use of samples of found sounds and everyday conversations. Following the release of a sequel titled Actual Life 2 (February 2 – October 15, 2021), Fred Again issued the singles “Lights Out” (2022) with The xx’s Romy and HAAi and “Admit It (U Don't Want 2)” with I. Jordan. “Jungle,” the lead single off of his third installment in the Actual Life series, appeared later that year and peaked at Number 94 on the UK charts. Fred Again's third studio album, Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022), hit the shelves in October 2022 and was represented by five singles: "Danielle (Smile on My Face)", "Bleu (Better with Time)", "Kammy (Like I Do)", "Delilah (Pull Me Out of This)" and "Clara (The Night Is Dark)". The LP went to number four in the UK.
