Influenced by the work of acts such as Kings of Leon, Bon Iver, and Ben Howard, Handed are a Dutch alt-pop band formed by singer/songwriter Stef Classens. Growing up in a musically enriched household, his parents' affinity for songwriting along with the music of AC/DC, Simply Red, and Bob Dylan, ultimately influenced him to pursue the same path. He began to write his own songs during his teens and after some time he'd amassed enough material to begin demo'ing tracks and performing. In 2014, he decided to audition for the third season of the De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland. Classens won the contest and went on to write more songs with a direct approach to a specific sound. With the help of friends, he realized his ideas in the form of Handed, a soft pop/rock outfit that touched upon the issues of love, loss, and healing. The band officially came together in late 2016 and put out their first full-length effort, Above the Storm, Below the Flood in early 2017. ~ Rob Wacey
