Hyolyn

Kim Hyo-jung, popularly known as Hyolyn, is a South Korean singer-songwriter. She was born on December 11, 1990, in Incheon, South Korea. Raised in a military family, Hyolyn faced health challenges during her early years but was able to overcome these obstacles to pursue her passion for singing and dancing. This began with her audition for JYP Entertainment, where she was initially part of a planned debut group with other notable artists. However, after the project's cancellation, she left JYP and joined Starship Entertainment. Hyolyn debuted with the girl group Sistar in 2010, and the group gained recognition for their vocal talents. In 2011, she formed the sub-group Sistar19 with fellow Sistar member Bora, releasing the hit single "Ma Boy." While venturing into acting, Hyolyn continued releasing music. Preceded by the hit singles "Lonely" and "One Way Love," her studio debut Love & Hate saw the light in 2013 and peaked at number 5 on the Circle Albums Chart. She also performed the Korean version of "Let It Go" for the movie Frozen. In 2014, Hyolyn continued to explore music and acting, releasing the soundtrack for My Love from the Star. After Sistar's disbandment in 2017, Hyolyn founded her own music label, BridÊ’, and embarked on a solo career. She released her second EP, Say My Name, in 2020, and continued to collaborate with various artists. In 2020, her song "9LIVES" was released as part of the OST for GOOD GIRL Episode 2, with her powerful vocal performance garnering acclaim. In 2023, she released the duet "This Love" with Paul Blanco.
