Jatin-Lalit

The Indian duo of Jatin-Lalit formed in 1991 in Mumbai when brothers Jatin and Lalit Pandit joined forces after Jatin ended his partnership with their older brother, Mandheer. The new duo immediately found success with 1991’s Yaara Dildara, especially the love song “Bin Tere Sanam”. The next year their work on Khiladi got them nominated for Best Music Director at the Filmfare Awards. They would continue with a string of successes including their contributions to the 1995 romantic comedy Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which became one of the biggest selling movie soundtracks of all time in India, moving 20 million copies. Before the 90s were through, they enoyed another multi-million selling soundtrack with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Their hot streat continued into the next century with 2000’s Mohabbatein and 2001’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, which were both best sellers of their years. The duo broke up before the end of the decade but came together in 2020 for a reunion concert featuring some of the most celebrated Bollywood performers of their time. From 1992 to 2006 they were nominated 11 times for the Filmfare Awards Best Music Director.
