Jithin Raj

Jithin Raj (born April 29, 1972 in Kerala, India), is an Indian playback singer and actor. During his college years, he participated in Airtel Super Singer 3 (television show) followed by season 2 of Indian Voice (television show) in 2012, where he finished in 2nd place. Appearing on Music Mojo (television show) with his band Prayaan, Raj developed a strong fan following, before starting his acting career in 2015, appearing in Neeyum Pinne Njaanum (film), followed by Vaanavil Vaazhkai (film) later that year. Making his debut as a playback singer, Raj performed the Tamil song “Pidikkudhae” from the film Sigaram Thodu , however it was with the release of “Un Mele Oru Kannu” from the film Rajini Murugan, that saw his popularity grow exponentially, with the music video attracting over 30 million views on YouTube within one month. Making his Malayalam playback singing debut in January, 2015, Raj performed the song “Mekkarayil” from romantic fantasy film Mariyam Mukku and in 2017 collaborated with playback singer Anandhi Joshi on the Tamil duet “Enna Sonna” which appeared in the film Pichuvakathi. Raj released several songs between 2018 and 2021 in both Tamil and Malayalam including “Tholi Tholiga” (2018), “Voo Kodithey” (2019), “Friendship Paattu” (2020), “Pakkadhadhu” (2021) and “Pol Pakkura” (2021) and in November 2021, made his producing debut at Alpha Beta Gamma which was screened at the International Film Festival of India. In 2022, he released popular tracks “Vaanam Bhoomi” as well as “Chola Chola” from the highly anticipated Tamil epic PS-1 (film) released in September 2022.
