Joseph Fiala

Although a composer of prolific production, the best that can be said about his music was written by W. A. Mozart. (Apparently he thought the music to be very pretty.) As a talented oboist and viola da gamba player, Fiala acceded to many stations. The professional situations that occupied Fiala included service to the Countess Netolicka, the Elector Maximillian Joseph, the Archbishop of Salzburg, Catherine the Great, Prince Orlov, Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia and Prince Furstenburg. The last compositions Fiala wrote were for the wind ensemble/orchestra of his prince. ~ Keith Johnson
