Kamelot

Kamelot is an American heavy metal band that formed in 1987 in Tampa, Florida. Guitarist Thomas Youngblood quickly emerged as the band's most consistent member, weathering a string of lineup changes and writing all songs on Kamelot's 1995 debut, Eternity. Drummer Richard Warner, who wrote the album's lyrics, left the lineup two years later. Despite the ever-shifting roster, Kamelot became a mainstay of Florida's symphonic metal scene, then reached the Billboard 200 for the first time with 2010's Poetry For The Poisoned, which charted at Number 74. Poetry For The Poisoned marked the beginning of a new, commercially-successful era for the long-running band, and Kamelot continued to chart in America with 2012's Silverthorn and 2015's Haven. Released by Napalm Records, Haven also marked the group's first album to reach Number 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock Chart, as well as the group's first Top 20 hit in both Germany and Finland. Three years later, The Shadow Theory reached Number 2 on the Hard Rock Chart in America. The Awakening, the band's thirteenth studio release, followed in 2023.
