Kelly Jones

As the raspy-voiced frontman of Stereophonics, Kelly Jones is one of the most successful Welsh rock artists in history. He was born in the former coal mining village of Cwmaman, Wales, on June 3, 1974, and formed Stereophonics in 1992. Serving as the band's singer, lead guitarist, and chief songwriter, Jones quickly steered Stereophonics toward the top of the UK charts, where multi-platinum albums like 1999's Performance and Cocktails, 2001's Just Enough Education to Perform, and 2003's You Gotta Go There to Come Back all climbed to Number 1. Two years after the band's anthemic song "Dakota" became their first chart-topping single, Jones launched his solo career with 2007's Only the Names Have Been Changed. Although he largely focused on Stereophonics' music during the years that followed, he returned to his solo career with 2020's Don't Let the Devil Take Another Day, which peaked at Number 8 on the UK's Official Albums Chart.
