Ketil Bjørnstad

Ketil Bjørnstad is a Norwegian pianist who plays jazz, classical, folk and rock music and has released many recordings since his 1972 debut with the album 'Åpning'. He trained in classical music in his homeland, London and Paris and made his concert debut as a teenager. He has collaborated with several artists on albums such as 'The Shadow' (1990) with Randi Stene, 'The Sea' (1995) with David Darling, Terje Rypdal and Jon Christensen, 'The Nest' (2003) with Anneli Drecker, 'The Light' (2008) with Randi Stene and Lars Anders Tomter, 'Night Song' (2011) with Svante Henryson and 'Frolandia' (2015) with Ole Paus. He is a prolific author with books of poetry, biographies and many novels. He has performed around the world including many of the top festivals and his music can be heard in films by directors such as Jean-Luc Godard and Ken Loach. His 2020 schedule was to include a performance at the Jazzfestival Neuwied in Germany.
