Lemar

Lemar's career kicked off in 2002 after a run on fly-on- the wall British TV talent show Fame Academy. Despite failing to win the competition (he came third) his soulful voice and good looks instead won him a lucrative recording contract with https://metadata.music-story.com/#Sony. Before that time, he had enjoyed some success as a solo artist, supporting Usher and Destiny's Child but had been unable to get his career off the ground - Fame Academy gave him the platform he needed and the singer never looked back. After performing with UK soul sensation Beverly Knight, Lemar hit the recording studio in earnest and Dance (With You) flew into the charts, reaching Number 2 in early 2003. His first album, Dedicated, followed later that year, with 2004's Time To Grow hot on its heels and securing the star two BRIT Awards for Best Urban Act in 2004 and 2006. His highest charting work to date, The Truth About Love, hit the shelves in 2006 and featured guest appearances from the likes of Joss Stone and Mica Paris.
