Madsen

Germany's sibling alt-rock trio Madsen comprises singer and guitarist Sebastian Madsen, lead guitarist Johannes Madsen, and drummer Sascha Madsen. The group formed in 2003 in Priesseck—a district of Germany's Clenze (Wendland) region—and scored chart success with their self-titled debut album in 2005, which went to number 23 in Germany. Their sophomore LP Goodbye Logik came three years later—cracking the German Top 10—followed by Frieden im Krieg in 2008 and Labyrinth in 2010. They spent the next decade releasing albums at a consistent rate, netting the likes of 2015's Kompass and 2020's Na gut dann nicht. Over the years, they have taken an anti-fascist and anti-racist stance, starring in the DVD Kein Bock auf Nazis ("No room for Nazis") along with other leading German bands including Die Ärzte, ZSK, Beatsteaks, and Wir sin Helden. 2023 saw the release of a new Madsen album, Hollywood.
