Martin Jensen

Specialising in infectious floor-filling, summer club anthems, house DJ Martin Jensen started out turning quirky samples into popular viral videos, before scoring the huge, global hit 'Solo Dance' in 2016. Growing up in the small town of Silkeborg, Denmark, Jensen started DJ-ing at school parties when he was15, but trained to become a mechanic and worked as a sales representative for his father's machinery company. Although he seemed set for a life working for the family business, he spent his evenings and weekends travelling around with his mobile disco, gradually progressing to a residency at a large local club, followed by regular spots at the Sunny Beach party resort in Bulgaria along with shows in China and Japan. He came to wider attention in 2015 when his self-released track 'Night After Night' received over 600,000 streams on Spotify in just two months, and he sampled a shriek of delight made by footballer Cristiano Ronaldo as he celebrated winning the Ballon d'Or award and turned it into the track 'Si', which became a viral online favourite across Europe and Latin America. Jensen finally quit his day job and took up DJ-ing full time in 2016, and he used the sound made by a toy Minion as the lead melody for his breezy, tropical club favourite 'All I Wanna Do', before 'Solo Dance' became his first major worldwide hit. Written by Peter Bjornskov's songwriting team Startone Music and featuring the vocals of Danish singer Theresa Rex, the track reached number seven in the UK charts and make the top 20 in 13 other countries; Jensen went on to play the main stage at the huge Tomorrowland dance festival and launch a major tour across Asia and the US. He also teamed up with boyband The Vamps for single 'Middle of the Night', with New York pop duo Loote on 'Wait' and he was featured on DJMag's prestigious top 100 DJ list for three years running, before returning with slick, sunsetting dance hit 'Nobody' featuring 'X Factor' winner James Arthur in 2019.
