Maxo Kream

Violent, vice-fueled gang life informs the work of Emekwanem Biosah, a rapper who goes by the alias Maxo Kream. The native Texan was born in Houston and raised in nearby Alief, where he got involved with gangs and supported himself with activity that led to a criminal record. He was eventually drawn to recording music inspired by his everyday life. Retro Card (2012) and Quicc Strikes (2013), his first two mixtapes, were self-released, after which he connected with the TSO label for #Maxo187 (2015) and The Persona Tape (2016). As a featured artist, he has appeared on tracks headlined by the likes of Katie Got Bandz, Playboi Carti, Chuck Inglish, and Fredo Santana. In 2018, Maxo Kream issued his debut studio album, Punken, which featured guest appearances by Trippie Redd, D. Flowers, and 03 Greedo. He returned in July 2019 with his follow-up and major-label debut, Brandon Banks, featuring contributions by Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, Murda Beatz, and others. ~ Andy Kellman
