Miranda!

The Argentinian electronic pop band Miranda! were formed in Buenos Aires in 2001 and immediately began to make an impression on the city's thriving underground music scene. The band have labelled their music as 'melodramatic electro', referring to the way band members role play the various characters featured in their material during their live performances. These performances achieved an almost legendary status on the Buenos Aires club scene and crowds began to flock to the band's gigs. Their debut album 'Es Mentiurea' was released in 2002 and spawned five singles but it wasn't until the release of their second album 'Sin Restricciones' in 2004 that the band broke into the mainstream charts. A string of hits followed and in 2007 their fifth album 'El Disco de tu Corazón' gave the band their first number one with the track 'Prisonero'. However, it was the follow-up single 'Perfecta' taken from the same album which launched the band internationally. The song featured the Mexican singer Julieta Venegas and this association helped promote the song to Latin audiences throughout the world and topped the charts in many Spanish speaking countries. Further albums included 'Es Imposible' (2009), 'Magistral' (2011), 'Safari' (2014) and 'Fuerte' (2017).
