Miriam Yeung

Born February 3, 1974, in Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong actor and Cantopop star Miriam Yeung first rose to prominence in 1995 after finishing third in the TVB 14th annual New Talent Singing Awards competition. She released her first Cantonese-language album in 1996, The Wolf Is Coming (狼來了), with a second full-length offering, Feeling, following in 1997. In 1998, she made her first foray into acting with a role in drama film Rumble Ages and carried on adding to her repertoire throughout the late '90s and early '00s, swiping the Most Popular Artiste Award at Italy's Udine Far East Film Festival in 2002. She continued to build on her filmography in tandem with her musical endeavours, dropping another four albums in the late '90s: 1998's Visit This Place, and 1999's Summer Story, Mandarin-language release Smiling and A Winter's Tale. 2000 marked the release of her second Mandarin-language album, Treasure Hunting, while her output in the '00s and '10s yielded a steady string of albums, including 2007's Meridian, 2011's Ready or Not, and 2015's If Everybody Had An Ocean. In 2019, she took on her first television appearance in eight years to star in TVB drama Wonder Women, later winning the Most Popular Female Character award at the 2019 TVB Anniversary Awards along with Selena Lee. By 2020, she had more than 35 albums and 40 films to her name. A new Cantopop single, "现在就是最后的意愿," arrived in 2020 with "上善如酒" following in 2022.
