NCT 127

NCT 127 are a K-pop band from Seoul, South Korea, formed as a subset of the band NCT by entertainment conglomerate SM Entertainment in 2016. The line-up varies but features mostly performers from South Korea with vocalists Moon Tae Il (Taeil), Lee Tae Yong (Taeyong), Lee Dong Hyuck (Haechan), Kim Dong Young (Doyoung), Jung Yoon Oh (Jaehyun), Kim Jung-woo (Jungwoo) and Dong Si Cheng (Winwin) from China and rappers Lee Min Hyung (Mark) from Canada, Seo Young Ho (Johnny) from the US and Nakamoto Yuta (Yuta) from Japan. Their debut EP NCT #127 (2016) went to number 2 on Billboard's World Albums chart and other EPs followed: Limitless (2017) topped the chart, NCT #127 Cherry Bomb (2017) peaked at number 2, and Chain (2018) hit number 8. Their debut album, Regular-Irregular, also went to number 2 on the chart and NCT #127 Regulate: The 1st Album, Repackage peaked at number 9. Scoring marketing and publishing deals with Capitol Music Group and Caroline Distribution in April 2019 encouraged the release of the aptly titled, glitchy electronic pop of the We Are Superhuman EP the following month, which peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200. They fared even better with their second Korean studio album, the genre-blending Neo Zone, released in 2020; the record became their first Top 5 entry on the US Billboard 200 and first release to sell over 1 million copies. The group upped their game by scoring a number 3 album on the US Billboard 200 chart with their third Korean studio album, Sticker, making chart history in 2021 as the highest-reaching K-pop album on the chart, smashing their own record by selling over 2.15 million copies of Sticker in a week. NCT 127 continued to break records with their fourth Korean-language album 2 Baddies (2022), which became the group's third consecutive release to crack the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 chart and their highest-charting effort in Australia's ARIA charts after debuting at number 3. The album was promoted through a world tour throughout North America, Asia, and Latin America that concluded with a show in Mexico City in early 2023. Hot on the heels of 2 Baddies' global success, NCT 127 continued to raise their profile with the release of their fifth studio album Fact Check, unveiled later that year.
