Oxmo Puccino

French rapper Abdoulaye Diarra, aka Oxmo Puccino, was born in Ségou, Mali. After moving to Paris with his family at a young age, he grew up a fan of hip-hop and drew inspiration from his urban surroundings. He had his debut solo album with 'Opéra Puccino' in 1998 which reached number seven on the French charts. Subsequent albums 'L'amour est Mort' (2001) and 'Le Cactus de Sibérie' also charted in the top 20. In 2006 he formed backing group The Jazzbastards who he collaborated with on the album 'Lipopette Bar' (2006). His other releases include 'L'arme de Paix', (2009) 'Roi Sans Carosse' (2012), 'Au Pays d'Alice' (2014) with Ibrahim Maalouf and 'La Voix Lactée' (2015). In 2019 he released singles 'Social Club', 'Peuvent Pas' and 'Il Nous Faut Regarder'.
