Pernilla Andersson

Born Pernilla Maria Theresa Andersson Dregen (née Andersson) on 10 December 1974 in Stockholm, Pernilla Andersson is a Grammy-nominated Swedish singer-songwriter who debuted in 19991 with My Journey and became the first female producer on a major label (EMI/Capitol) in 2000 when she produced Svante Thuresson's album Nya Kickar, which was nominated for a Grammy. She also produced the duet album Svante Thuresson and friends and competed at Sweden's Eurovision try-out Melodifestivalen in 2011 with the song "Desperados". Her 2009 and 2010 albums Ashbury Apples and Ö also earned her Grammy nominations for Composer of the Year and Artist of the Year, with her 2012 LP Det är en spricka i allt det är så ljuset kommer in charting at number two in Sweden. Her 2016 album Tiggrinnan was also nominated for a Grammy in the Singer-Songwriter of the Year category. 2021 saw the release of Samma dag som Elvis, which went to number 18 in Sweden.
