Rockwell

The son of Motown Records founder and CEO Berry Gordy and Margaret Norton, Rockwell was born Kennedy William Gordy on March 15, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan and enjoyed a short-lived recording career spanning just two years. Featuring the background vocals of none other than brothers Michael and Jermaine Jackson, Rockwell’s 1984 synth-funk classic “Somebody’s Watching Me” was released on Motown Records on the US singer-songwriter’s debut studio album of the same. The single became a Gold-certified Number two song in the US and peaked at Number six in the UK. 1985 saw the release of Rockwell's second album for Motown, Captured, which featured Stevie Wonder on the single “He’s a Cobra”. Rockwell released his final album, The Genie, in 1986. In November 2018, Rockwell was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman at a Hollywood hotel.
