Rykkinnfella

Better known as one third of the EDM trio JCY, Alexander Austheim (December 26, 1987), aka Rykkinnfella, is a Norwegian musician and producer. Before joining JCY in 2016, he rose to prominence as both a highly sought-after remixer and a champion of Russ music, a controversial subgenre of electronic music that emerged in Norway in the mid-aughts. He also produced the track “Fireogtyvegods” for the hip-hop group Karpe, included in their 2008 award-winning album Fire Vegger. Throughout his career, he has also collaborated with artists like Isac Elliot, Bearson, Fatin, and Suite 16. In subsequent years, Rykkinnfella struck up a creative partnership with vocalist Jack Dee, releasing a plethora of singles that enjoyed great popularity in their native Norway, such as “Overdoze 2016,” “Ditchdrunk 2019,” and “Escalate 2020.” Originally released in 2015, “17. Mai Er Vi Så Glad I,” an EDM version of the traditional Norwegian children’s song of the same name, went viral in 2021 and entered the Norwegian Top 40 at Number 13. The duo followed up that year with “Norge I Rødt, Hvitt Og Blått,” a dance version of one of Norway’s most famous national songs.
