Seungri

Born on December 12, 1990, in Gwangju, South Korea, Lee Seung-hyun, aka Seungri, is a singer and actor who rose to fame in 2006 as a member of the successful boy band Big Bang. In 2008, he was the sole vocalist on the second single from the band's second studio album, Remember. The single, "Strong Baby," enabled Seungri to move away from the boy band role and adopt a more adult style. He pursued this new style in his later releases, with the albums V.V.I.P in 2011, and Let's Talk About Love in 2013. Both made it to the number 1 spot in South Korea, with the latter making it to number 2 on Billboard's World Albums Chart. His studio debut, The Great Seungri, came out in 2018 and shot straight to number 1 on the Circle Albums Chart. Released simultaneously with the singles "1, 2, 3!" and "Where R U From," The Great Seungri enjoyed moderate international success, charting in France, Japan, and the United States. Alongside his recording and touring work, Seungri has also formed careers in acting in TV and movies, as well as setting up and running a number of businesses. Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 under the cloud of the Burning Sun scandal and accusations of embezzlement and illegal gambling.
