Sofia Källgren

Born on August 17, 1970, in Högsbo, Sweden, singer Sofia Källgren first appeared in the public eye in 1982 on the TV show Gomorron Sverige on Sveriges Television. Her career took a significant leap in 1986 when she performed "I Know Him So Well" from the musical Chess on De okändas revy. This performance led to her participation in the televised talent show Folkparkernas talangjakt, and in 1987, she was honored with the Ulla Billquist-scholarship. Her journey in the Melodifestivalen began in 1989 with the song "Världen är vacker." Although it wasn't selected, she was given the chance to perform "Världen är vår" with the group Visitors. The following year, she entered the competition again, performing "Handen på hjärtat," which entered the Swedish charts upon its release. Her last appearance in the contest was in 2003 when she performed a duet with Robert Wells. In addition to her discography, which includes albums like Julen är kommen (1990), Min älskade (1992), and Mina sånger (1994), Sofia Källgren has also released music in English—2003's My Love—and Mandarin Chinese—東方西方 (Eastward Westward) vol. 1 (2005) and 東方西方 (Eastward Westward) vol. 2 (2006). She has also starred in numerous musicals such as Beauty and the Beast, The Swan Princess, and The Powerpuff Girls' Adventure. Her performance in Miss Saigon at Göta Lejon in Stockholm in 1998 earned her the prestigious Guldmasken (The Golden Mask) award.
