Sunye

Min Sun-ye (August 12, 1989), or simply Sunye, is a South Korean singer and actress known as the former leader of the K-pop group Wonder Girls. Born in Seoul, she was first discovered by JYP Entertainment after participating in Park Jin-young's 99% Challenge and joined the media giant's roster as a trainee. In 2007, she debuted as Wonder Girls' lead vocalist on the single "Irony" and went on to achieve mainstream success with the group, whose first studio outing The Wonder Years reached Number 4 on the Gaon Albums Chart. In addition to her involvement in the group, Sunye has also collaborated with other artists such as Mighty Mouth, Park Jin-young, and Davichi, and has recorded music for numerous TV shows. Following her retirement from the music industry in 2014, she signed with Polaris Entertainment in 2018 and made appearances on the reality shows King of Masked Singer and Mama The Idol. In 2022, her solo single "Separation in the Daytime" featuring Im Seulong peaked at Number 69 on the Korean charts.
