Suzy K.

New York-native Suzy K. hit chart-topping success with her single "Now I Know," a ballad duet with Donny Osmond and Dave Koz. It became the number one most added A/C single on all key industry radio charts in its first week of release, beating out teen popsters like the Backstreet Boys. Suzy K. was always surrounded by music a child. She enjoyed the music of Broadway and the pop sounds of Barbra Streisand, thanks to her mother, a trained opera singer. K. also found success in acting, appearing in ABC after-school specials, yet it was the music that kept calling her back. In cohorts with her brother, a Beverly Hills dentist, K.'s two-song demo got played for a high-powered entertainment attorney during a dental exam. This creative plan lead K. to record her 1996 debut album Close to Paradise for Coyote Records. In summer 2000, she released her sophomore effort, As I Am, on What Are Records. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
